Long flows the beard

Swaran Singh, a non-resident Indian from Surrey in British Columbia,

Canada has achieved a rare feat. He sports a beard that measures over 7 feet, and is expected to be endorsed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the worlds longest beard. As a devout Sikh, Swaran wanted to inspire the young members of his community to retain the hair and not crop it. This resulted in his beard growing to such a length.

Such a tall statue

Scores of master craftsmen have gathered in the city of Gwalior to erect the tallest ever statue of Deity Adinath, the first of 24 religious gurus of the Jain community. A team of 40 artists is working round the clock to erect a clay model of the 31-feet tall and 26-feet wide statue of the deity. Once the work on this clay model is done, it would be taken to the Trilok Dham, a Jain pilgrimage centre in Baragaon in the state of Uttar Pradesh, where the metallic casting would be done.

Press to paint

If you think a hot iron press is only used to straighten the creases of your clothes, then you probably havent heard about Priyesh Dutt Malaviya, a unique painter from the city of Bhopal, who uses cloth as canvas and a hot iron to create his artistic concepts. Whats different about the artwork is that it does not involve the usage of any colour. Thats because Priyesh wanted to bring about the original colour of the canvas, which he says goes from cream to yellow to brown on being pressed upon by a hot iron.
