Car accident safety belt people died on car accident, the seatbelt is proven to lower the? chances of deaths in car accidents lower then 50 mph. higher then 50 mph the seatbelt will cause internal damage like severing the aorta from the heart. so they came up witha great idea airbags witch protect you from 50mph+ accidents but can kill you any slower. wear your seatbelt! There is no way that it could strangle you unless you wrap it around your neck.? Just wear it correctly and you will be fine. It should rest at the hips and across the chest. The only way the seatbelt could kill you if it goes across your neck and seperates your spinal cord. Im an EMT so PLEASE wear your seatbelt correctly! The last thing I want to see is someone get thrown out the wind shield.
